The Way of the House Husband

I have forgotten who recommended this manga, but it is a delight. A former yakuza badass goes about domestic life with the same intensity he did with his old life.

In this particular chapter, the titular house husband goes shopping with his wife.

Feeling self-conscious that people are afraid of her husband, the wife decides that it might help if he tried out a new look. Nothing seems to suit the house husband, until he gets an idea...

The anime for this was so cheap it was like a bad motion comic. Yet the shorts advertising the anime were live-action and fantastic.

Yeah, I heard the anime wasn't great.

There is however a live-action tv show, that is truly outstanding. It isn't available anywhere in english legally, but there is a fan translation, which I would link to, but I think that would violate Scans-Daily's rules

Supposedly it was made that way deliberately; it was the director's idea.

Not a great idea. The anime was pretty unwatchable.

This version looks great, though! Adding it to my reading queue.

The anime's style definitely takes a while to get used to, but it has started to grow on me. Your mileage may vary for other folks though.
