You know how at the end of every "event", everything goes back to the way it was, but there's ONE thing which remains leftover?

"Necrosha" restored Doug Ramsey to life and unlike all the other reanimated corpses, stayed alive. (Yay!)

"Age of Apocalypse" gave us X-Man and... ummm... Holocaust and err.... Sugar Man! (Yay?)

"Deadly Genesis"gave us Vulcan... which really isn't helping my case is it... but never mind.

So PLEASE "Age of X-Man", if you have to keep one thing, please let it be this #4 reveals that....

"This is not what you think it is. This is not a rehashing of the Age of Apocalypse. This is something else altogether. It’s a utopia. It’s the quiet American Dream come true for the X-Men and thus a world and lifestyle that has never been explored for mutants in the past. But there’s a lurking darkness beneath. We’re harkening back to classic dystopian fiction like Orwell, Bradbury, and Huxley, but this time it’s less oppressive and tackling contemporary issues. We’re slowing things down a bit, keeping it eerie, before stoking the flames again in order to explore who these characters become when they are allowed to be individuals, when they are allowed to be exactly who they want to be without fear of repercussion or persecution." -- Lonnie Nadler

"This book is about a different kind of oppression. It’s about exploring what you become when you’re faced to ask hard questions about what you’d do to keep the peace. It’s about tackling the age old X-Men theme of what it means to be an outsider with a modern subversive twist. Age of X-Man is about exploring what mutants become after they win a battle they’ve been fighting for their entire lives." -- Zac Thompson

Gosh, I've been so busy with the Mod stuff, that I forgot to post this as li'l ole me! But there's about 20 minutes left of the day in my time zone, so I'm sliding in under the wire!

Over the years I've like to present a little bit of fanart as a gift to the community, and in lieu of a Christmas card

Presumably after the fun and games of "X-Men: Disassembled" is over and done with it's time for an event!

And for that we need a dynamic, exciting, hot mutant property to build the event around.

Sadly, since Doug Ramsey is busy over in Daredevil right now, we're getting an event focussing on the one (Well, there's sort of two of him), the only (not counting alternate universes and 'What if..?'s')...

UNCANNY X-MEN #445 was during Chris Claremont's run with Alan Davis, after the end of the Grant Morrison era. It covers the idea of the X-Men going "legit" with the X.S.E., mixed with Wolverine showing genuine regret over killing someone (?) and Nightcrawler and Storm reminiscing over their early days on the team.

There is also some discussion over Charles Xavier's selection process for mutants to join the X-Men.

Now, I think I've been rather well behaved of late... more or less., not forcing my particular... quirk on anyone...

So I'm rather pleased that X-Men Gold #18's cover saves me the bother! :D

'Heroes for Hope' was a project Marvel did in 1985 with various artists and writers to spread awareness concerning the famine in Ethiopia (with all proceeds from the comic donated to relief). In addition to illustrating a segment written by none other than Stephen King, it was Bernie Wrightson who came up with the idea for the project and suggested it to Jim Shooter.

Warning for some graphic imagery.
