Let's hear it for platonic ideals!

Dick Grayson and Donna Troy )

Then there's my other go-to couple.

Kitty Pryde and Doug Ramsey )

And... well, the SECOND Team Supreme )

I could continue indefintiely for ages with others like Bruce and Clark, Diana and Lois, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, Tim and Kon, but these will do for now I think.

Dan Abnett: There is a sense that, in this story, even the beginnings that we've seen of it, the potential problems associated with Donna are now very carefully contained - so she's no longer going to spin off the rails - but Roy also is the one who's going to spin off. Are we reversing the dynamic? Is it a matter now of Donna stepping up and going, we need to help Roy now because… And if that's the case - that's two of them that have essentially gone rogue, or three, actually, if you count Wally and the problems that he's been having in the last few issues, is that really proof that the Titans are not a viable thing? That they're basically not safe because at any point one of the wheels could come off and everything could go crashing down? But I'm finding it a very, very interesting story, because it is taking the whole idea of the Titans and subjecting it to intense scrutiny and seeing how far you can push it before it simply disintegrates.

Following on from Wonder Woman v.2 #160 comes Wonder Woman v.2 #161. And then, after a fashion, comes Wonder Woman '77 #14, where Manhunter writer Marc Andreyko did a Clayface story set on Paradise Island.

When we left the scans in the previous post, Clayface had announced that he was going to take Diana's Clay and get Wonder Woman powers, in a fit of logic only matched by Absorbing Man trying to break into a museum to steal some moon rock. It worked, thanks to Comic Book Logic, and Clayface became super strong and could fly, but Diana wasn't destroyed, only left weaker and younger.

She retreated to nearby Titans Tower where she ran into Donna Troy, now her doppelganger. And so we continue...

Well, as I noted before, today is Valentines Day, that day when we celebrate the commercial exploitation of relatio.... I mean, the joys of love and partnership.

Whilst I might better known for my... more unusual tastes, I do have the soul of romantic.. a jaded, cynical, bitter, British single romantic, but a romantic nonetheless. ;)

So, in the spirit of the day I commissioned old favourite, The Black Cat to celebrate the past loves of a certain favourite character of mine...

I can do 'wholesome', honest!! )

"We did bring Superman into our last arc, but I really felt like for this arc, I wanted to focus not on that relationship, because there is the book for that relationship, and instead focus on the other women in her life. So you’re really going to see her relationship with Donna, and how that’s evolving. And—I wanted to develop more friendships for her. So we’re gonna see some more of that dynamic with Hessia and Zola and Hera. Because one of the biggest things for women, I find for myself, and I’m sure most women can relate to this, is your support group, and your support family." - Meredith Finch

"Absolutely, Wonder Woman is a feminist icon. Throughout the course of her history, she has been a role model of strength and empowerment for young women, and today, those young women of the '60s and '70s are doctors and lawyers and executives for some of the world's biggest corporations. But I think that more importantly, Wonder Woman is a humanist and I would say that today, she is simply a symbol of equality and empowerment." - Meredith Finch

"The central conflict of our story is an internal one. When I think about what Diana/Wonder Woman represents… the word that comes to mind is love. Everything she does is based around the intense love she has for humanity. How will she reconcile that now that she is the God of War?" - Meredith Finch

"We all went into it with the best of intentions and we were all very excited. It started out fun, and a neat challenge, but it became more and more trying as the series went on. As with Bedard, Palmiotti, Gray and Beechen, I had very little say. As time passed, we were promised a more prominent role, but the reality was we wound up having less and less to do with it." - Sean McKeever
