We accidentally blackballed this issue before covering the Batman/Green Lanterns arc, so let's go into it now as an example of how Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz could work, TV-wise.
Plus, what color is an anxiety Lantern? Check it!

Wotcher, folks! Hope your holidays went well!

Anyway, Green Lanterns presents a confrontationally admissive, but thankfully uncondemning story about mothers, sons, and the often-complicated emotional dynamics between them. Check it!

It's hard to do a big and complete post on Green Lanterns currently, since it's a dense surprisingly and has a lot of story and characterization going on it. So instead, I'll just do a post on my favorite scene of the second issue.

"People always accuse politicians of being evil. I thought, what if one really worshipped the devil? Marlinspike is the malevolent demon behind Jack. Is there something about the state of our political system that would attract an ambitious, manipulative demon? It seems likely he'd feel right at home, maybe be more adept at gaming the system than the most seasoned real-life political operatives. What if he decided he wanted a puppet president? What if his candidate was a loud mouth corrupt politician from the middle of nowhere, with a history of dirty money and sex scandals? Could they pull it off? Under the right circumstances...would we let them?"

So as I stated in the last post the current incarnation of Yondu is very much a lift of the character from the movie (in which James Gunn completely reworked the character with Michael Rooker in mind as a space pirate). The reasoning apparently is that the classic version comes from "Earth-691" and this is the one from "Earth-616". Now again I'm not at all bothered by this (the different earth distinction even makes sense) but is kind of interesting to see how steadfast Marvel is in making their comics aligned with the films.

"Citizen Jack isn’t about Trump. Citizen Jack is bigger than Trump. Citizen Jack is about the problems that we have that can allow a Trump to happen. If you’re out there wondering how Donald Trump is a real thing or wondering how Donald Trump hasn’t won the election already, Citizen Jack is about questions that underlie those questions."
