The benefits of a multiverse is the wide variety of available stories where Doom ushers in a utopia.
You got Doom utopia (ironic), Doom utopia (tragic), Doom utopia (bittersweet), and Doom utopia (regular).

Oh, and that one where Doom rules the world and utterly annihilated all human spirit, which for some reason caused the entire universe to end.

Not a lot of What If...?s where Reed Richards ushers in a utopia.

"DOOM will allow Richard to live. But only so that the crushing weight of his failure will gnaw at him for every renaming second of his pitiful life. Now DOOM must focus on how best to teach the children about the accursed Richard. It is an unconformable topic but it would be a disservice to their young minds to shield then from the horror's of the pre-DOOM world".

Doom has everything he needs to be a truly good person and a worthy ruler of the world.
But he also has a crippling raft of personal flaws which ensure he could never achieve it. Between the hubris and his hatred of that accursed Richards, there's always something.

And as we've seen, I don't think you can even remove Richards from the equation and still have a successful Doom.
