Yeah, this was an odd one. Not quite as odd as, say, a small town being plagued by aliens, or a race of lizards turned sentient by nuclear testing or an entire city of eerily Caucasian Romans hidden in the middle of South America, but still odd.

Not a great day for Xuan. First her mighty powers fail to work, then she gets smacked up the head with a sword. Just the start of a long but not remotely slow slide in humiliation, misery and just being narratively superfluous.
