Scenario: Your husband has gone off to face an assassin alone, despite having lost almost every unaided battle with a supervillain he's ever had. To help him, you have summoned Batman, the most dangerous man on Earth, who is his last, best hope. Time is of the essence: every moment that ticks by could be crucial. Do you:
A) Tell Batman what your husband is facing as clearly and concisely as possible. B) Rant at him for a page and a half first about how much you hate his vigilantism. C) When you tell Batman about the assassin, make sure you take a few seconds to emphasize the assassin's cool lifestyle and marketable codename. D) Scream your demands that Batman slow himself down by taking you along, as if you might somehow be more effective against this assassin than your husband. Or Batman. E) Combine B, C, and D.

(In fairness, neither Jim nor Bruce are acting all that bright either, but Bruce is supposed to be a bit sluggish at this point, and Jim's macho bullshit--"No capes, I'll handle this guy MYSELF!"--was kind of expected of a man of his generation at the time. Mrs. Gordon just plays like J. Jonah Jameson if he weren't any fun.)
