Yeah, I love cyberghostface and I know this idea is dear to his heart, but it is never ever gonna happen and for very good reason.
You and metadronos have said most of the things I would say about it, so I'll just add that this reminds me of when people tried to pursue Bruce Wayne/Dick Grayson slashfic as a path to queer empowerment. Like, no. He's his son. It doesn't help the cause of LGBTQ rights to fixate on the narratives that play into bigots' hands.
I will say there's nothing wrong with playing the Joker as queer--there's certainly been enough ink spent on how psychosexual his relationship with Batman looks in many an interpretation. But I don't think he deserves "queer icon" status or invitation to any Pride roundups, anymore than the secretly gay lawmakers who push anti-LGBTQ legislation do. The Joker hurts people. That isn't love.
Haven't seen the movie yet, though, and it might be interesting in its own right and as its own thing. I'll check it out when I get the chance.
