What I don't get is why Lex would bother 'mixing' his DNA with anyone. He built a program (the Everyman Program) that could give anyone superpowers. If he wanted a superpowered child why doesn't he just straight up clone himself subject it to that treatment, or any of the other dozens he must know of from his time as PotUS to give them superpowers.

I mean with supes we can at least cry sub-text, but it seems to me that Lex is too much of a narcisist for this.

In DCU I believe straight-up cloning someone fails because they eventually devolve into bizarros and 99% of the time die soon after.

So the reason why he combined his DNA with anyone was because it prevented that deterioration from happening.
