"The Day of the Denizens is at hand!" (Part 1 of 3)

More Sequential Art, this time pieces of the first giant plot arc. (Image heavy as all hell.)

On his way home, Art gets caught in a storm and crashes his scooter, resulting in the need for a cab trip. The cabbie, being huge, of indeterminate Eastern European origin, and certifiably insane, takes all the meat in the housemates' fridge as payment, and leaves them an odd little black dolly.

Of course, we haven't heard the last of this dude. Months later, after Scarlet and Leonard have joined the happily dysfunctional household...

When Art buys a replica ray-gun at a comic and anime convention, Scarlet shows off one of her rare flashes of brilliance by turning it into a real weapon. It only works once, however, and Art puts it away in his room. This will end up biting everyone in the ass when the creepy dolly calls in reinforcements from roundabouts Siberia.

The leader seemingly vaporizes Leonard in a teleportation experiment, which prompts Kat to make an escape attempt. She ends up cutting Pip's ropes instead of her own by accident, and he uses a nearby lightswitch as a distraction to run for it.

Muahahahahaha!

This was one of the funniest and bestest arc of Sequential Art IMO.

SPOILER-ALERT

I'm...not sure the Scarlet rescue part was 'the' sequel for this arc. Since it ends up with the head Denizen rising and activating the AI.

On the one hand, this is hilarious; on the other, part of my mind keeps saying 'if something like this were happening to you, it would be terrifying beyond your capacity to comprehend'. So it's, uh, yeah, there's some cognitive dissonance there.
