I don`t know, this Flash series is just not doing it for me..It`s like they`re trying to make the Flash a 'serious' title and I`m pretty sure the Flash doesn`t work that way. (not saying he`s a joke, but I would expect a bit more light-hearted-ness)
I don't know about you but ever since Johns' Flash run there has been a LOT of dark stuff in the Flash books, mainly related to the Rogues.
There have been many cold-blooded murders, hot-blooded murders, Murmur as a character, Rogue Wars, re-animated corpses and paternity suits, and of course time-travel induced miscarriages.
This is actually pretty tame for Flash stuff post 2003.
Actually, I'd say there's been quite a bit of light-heartedness, it also just has it's serious moments when it fits--with Iris and Barry's co-workers, you can have light, when Flash is trying to absolve himself from murder, it's harder to do that.
