I cannot help but observe that you look most bewildered by that Gaga minx. The bras, the blood, the dresses made of spandex and meat and rainbows – what does it all mean? Your eyes are hollow and shadowed from nights spent alone, wondering, wondering, your laptop clutched to your chest, waiting for her videos to reveal their meaning at last to you. Tears – are those…tears? Glistening there in your eyelashes like the tiny twinkling flashbulbs of paparazzi?

I take all the blame upon myself. You see, I have been so frightfully lacking in my duties of late. Who was there these last long weeks to methodically and scientifically summarize her music videos for the better understanding of the universe? Nobody, that’s who. But I’m here now. I came back for you. Here, dry your eyes on this McQueen gown, and sip on a little bub. It will all make sense soon.

Music and fashion. I have to admit, it's just a theory of mine, and "you gotta be joking" is just asking for it in a way.

Exactly! Just how self-aware she is in each incident is of course up for debate, but as you can see she's basically playing up the extremes of entertainment for both critique and pleasure.
