Leaked covers for the Superfamily in DCNu

Still keeping the symbol, lost the Red undies, also armorarmorarmor boots. And that Daily Planet globe always gets destroyed.

Oh my God! Kon what did they do to you? (Also different design from DCNu's Teen Titans Superboy)

I am so in love with that top and the way the cape goes around her neck. Not too crazy on the bottom part and the weird boots. Also it seems Kara escaped the pants for all women policy.

Really? I think it frequently does!

Look at Plastic man, Hercules, Hulk, Namor, and more!

Plastic Man is never depicted as 'sexy', though, and Hercules' and Namor's are time and place appropriate attire. There's really not an equality of eye-candy in design for superhumans. Which is why, as a guy who likes my male eye candy, and am saddened by the Superboy cover, there's a certain schadenfreude as I watch the pantsed universe take over!

How many more, exactly? Compared to the number of women in bathing suits and boob windshields and such?

Also, doesn't Hulk sort of not choose his costume? (It's just the default of him transforming and then selectively destroying his alter-ego's civs in the process?)

And didn't they actually change Namor's costume into a unitard, or did that end up being changed back again?

I apologize for forgetting Herc. Given the amount of ink he gets here, I really should've remembered him. :o

Plastic Man and Hulk are never portayed as sexy.

Namor lives in the Ocean. And even then, a few years ago they changed his costume into a unitard.

As far as I know, Herc is the only male hero who wears a skimpy costume* out of the water and is supposed to be sexy. But Herc gets laid like crazy. His stories focus a lot of the many, many women he sexes up. His skimpy costume is a blatant expression of his wild sexuality. Compare and contrast, say, greek hero swimsuit-wearing Wonder Woman, whom the stories, writers and editors take greats pains to portray as a virgin.

More? I can't think of any.

*And even then, the skimpy costume fully covers his ass, whereas female characters' skimpy costume are often thongs.

That guy, Daimon something? He showed up on New Avengers with a naked torso and some very low hanging pants, and I thought "wow, nice costume, dude, i don't see male fanservice like that often!"

ETA: not that I disagree with you, at all. It's obvious that fanservice with female characters is much more endemic and often ridiculously mandatory regardless of the character's personnality; whereas male fanservice is few and far occurrences here and there, with usually a much better fit to the character. Just mentioning another character who has that sort of thing going on :)

Daimon Hellstrom, aka Son of Satan. Current residence Fire Lake, between the borders of Massachusetts and Hell.

Well, he can do the beefcake thing in his original costume, but I don't think he'd be the first guy ladies would prefer to drool over.

Uh, the Satan thing? Okay, yes, he's just a fictional character but just the idea of visiting the parents wouldn't help anyone's libido.

Besides, he's got a bad track record with relationships. Just ask Hellcat. Patsy could tell you stories. Jaine Cutter could tell you different kinds of stories, too. But you'd probably end up puking your guts before she got half way through.

yeah, I don't find any of those reasons ground to not drool on a fictional character....

Well, okay. I'm willing to admit that as a piece of meat he's beefcakey enough.

I guess I'm just too continuity dependent that if I know the character I can't just see him that way, I'll have to consider personality and other such factors.

Yeah, in term of being fan of a characters, wanting to read about them in fanfics, etc. personnality and narrative role are important to me (though even there, villainy isn't that much of an issue XD); but as far as appreciating a glance at their ass when they strut out nearly naked on a page, heh; it's all good.*

* well, not all, but you know, as long as they're no Nazis or anything like that.

Actually Daimon seems to be getting a new costume in that new Vengeance miniseries by Joe Casey. Covers him up more.

Even Hercules got a new leotard costume, no more man skirt.
