And FINALLY..... I GOT AN AMANDA CONNER COMMISSION! She's totally way too modest, calling this a sketch. Took me three trips by her booth, and about as many hours waiting in line on Saturday, but she was just so awesome and put up with my blithering and is totally my hero forever now...

My boyfriend and I got a print of Katie Cook's Kitty Lantern Corps, framed it, and put it up on the wall... then we sat around trying to figure out what Corps our Kitty would belong to.

(I think we decided Indigo, because she's a very lovey kitty and will come try to cheer you up on bad days or after nightmares :D)

I always liked the answer one of my dad's close friends, who was openly gay, gave him when Dad asked, *politely* and in a way that made it clear he was just asking out of genuine curiosity, what he thought when he did see an attractive woman in skimpy/revealing/skintight clothing. (I believe it was in reference to Jeri Ryan on Voyager, specifically.)

The reply: "Well, yeah, I admit, she's cute. But then, a puppy's cute, too, and I don't want to fuck a puppy."

i always thought having those three as meloni's kids would be an interesting dynamic... bart the Outright hero, Inertia the Villain, and Owen the one between them.

Unfortunately, two of them suffered the tragic fates of bad writing and gruesome death (with a side of character derailment in Owen's case *grrrrrjohnsgrrrr*).

Honestly, if I was gonna get a commission from Amanda, I'd ask for someone she *doesn't* get dozens of requests for at every con. Not sure who yet (Kory, maybe?), but I suspect she'd enjoy getting a bit of variety.

Of course, I'm also the guy who was disappointed when Adam Hughes stopped doing con sketches, not because I'd never be able to get one for myself, but because I'd never be able to get him to do a funny/sexy one of Squirrel Girl to make Sage Freehaven's head explode... (OK, admittedly, I'd love to see it too. But making Sage's brain segfault would be the primary reason!)
