Question for the marvel fen about Eli Bradley

I'm fairly certain that it's never mentioned in canon whether Eli Bradley practices any particular faith, if at all. But considering his family, it's always been my head canon that he's muslim - though I'm not positive about which branch. I'm fairly split between the Nation of Islam and Sunni Islam, but there are of course other branches and off-shoots... (Is it ever elaborated on in canon what branches Faith Shabazz and Josiah X belong to? The name changes imply Nation, but I'm not sure if it's ever actually outright said. This is what I get for not having read The Crew yet.)

What's your opinion? Do you have head canon regarding other characters religious affiliations (or lack there of)? Share!

Rahne is suppose to be Presby but ever word out of her mouth is pure Roman Catholicism(at least the Hollywood version of it).

Sorry nyadnar17 old bean, but you keep saying that in these discussions, and I still see no evidence to support it. Her attitudes are definitely NOT Catholic, but are in line with Presbyterianism.

What statements has she made which suggest Catholicism over Wee Free?

She said that suicide sends you to hell in X-Factor, I think? I dunno how Presbyterianism stands on that, but it's a classic "Catholicism in fiction" thing.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that's just common ground between them, as Presbyterianism views it as a mortal sin too.

I'm no expert, but i *was* brought up (admittedly lax - our communion was welch's grape juice and what i'm pretty sure were boxed croutons) Presbyterian. The concept of "mortal sin" - i.e. "do this and it's an autoticket to hell" - didn't really exist.

Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland? Because that's the sort of Presbyterian that Rahne would most likely be? A far more extreme take on the faith than most.

oh, no, no, no, the Free Scots are *seriously* more hardcore. (hence my caveat about the extreme laxity of the brand of Presbyterian I grew up with.) and I can very much see that as Rahne's denomination. But because of the grape juice and crouton mindset, i always have a hard time associating the "Mortal sin" concept with Presbyterian. IIRC, they used that as a comparison "us vs. the much cooler-looking catholic church down the street".

But then, my dad was lapsed Episcopalian, my mom was non-committal Lutheran, and the Presbyterians were the only non-catholic church within five miles of the house, so it really was a matter of balancing convenience with the obligatory need to provide a religious education for their offspring, moreso than dogma in my parents' case. :LOL:
