More Rise of the Guardians comics
This time released by Dreamworks--more Pitch Black, by Johane Matte, Perry Maple and WoonYoung Jung.
Johane Matte, by the way, is Rufftoon, who is STILL drawing ROTG comics on Tumblr even now.

"NICHOLAS ST. NORTH!" (aka Santa Claus)
He (enthusiastically) asks Pitch to ally himself with him.
"What makes you think I would be interested in alliances?"
North explains that they all became Guardians--he, Tooth and Sandy--to keep children safe. He also explains that the Man in the Moon gave them those roles, chose them to become Guardians.

1) Pitch's outfit bears a startling resemblance to movie!Loki and
2) I love this story. The movie, and all its extensions, and the book it sprung from, I badly want to read.
So many artists have gotten into this movie. Like, for example, the captivating Phobs:

Who is creating a 14-page comic based on Pitch's backstory.
Basically, he had a daughter. A daughter who eventually became Mother Nature, after she lost him to the Fearlings, which made him what he is now.
The stories behind each Guardian are amazing, guys, honestly.

And, before I cap this all off, here's what I did in the span of 30 minutes after watching the movie:

I want to clarify that Soft pastels are an incredibly difficult medium to control, seeing as they're like chalk, but smudgier and harder to erase.
Plus I borked up his hand and the arm length, but I like how this turned out anyway :)
Also, can we have a Rise of the Guardians tag? :)) I may make more posts after this one.

How do these people *become* these concepts? Like Mother Nature, Jack Frost, etc.
Boo for the Tooth Fairy being somewhat 'whitenised', she's based on the Kinnara of Buddhist and hindu mythology, but seems like the movie has kept the ties and given her a race lift to white.
So now the entire cast is essentially White people. Hmm :/

But not enough for me not to really, really want to watch it.
It just sounds like a really enjoyable concept, I must get the art book aswell.

And yeah I see what you mean now. Plus her demeanor (I don't know what she's like in the books so I can't tell) seems much more bubbly than the book version.
Not worse, not better, just different. And I love the sheen that comes off her "hummingbird" feathery flesh, such a treat for the eyes.
