BPRD:The Origin of Liz Sherman and the First Time She Met Hellboy
Along with Hellboy and Abe Sapien, the pyrokinetic Liz Sherman is essentially one of the Big Three when it comes to the BPRD universe. Unfortunately, although her powers kind of make her something of a superhero (particularly later on), the point when her powers fully switched on for the first time (by accident) ended up traumatising her for several decades afterwards...

After incinerating an entire city block with her powers, the terrified Liz is taken in by the BPRD, as they're the one agency actually funded to deal with stuff like that. Unfortunately, for all the good intentions of the group, it didn't really have the best people at hand when it came to dealing with people who'd been in traumatising situations.
A bit of context for the next scans, which are from the beginning of the post-Hellboy BPRD series, in which Liz's soul had been stolen by some vat-grown troll people (one of which appeared as a vampire ghost in the prequel series Witchfinder), and she flashing back to the first time she met HB.

Yeah, as much as I liked the Guillermo del Toro Hellboy films, the decision to pair up Liz and Hellboy kind of weirded me out, considering they were more like brother and sister in the comicbooks...
