Second page.

Second to the last panel.

Remove all context from your brain and look at it again.

....AUGH.

yeah . . .
I at first thought that the baby gave a supersneeze and his crotch exploded

I'm glad that wasn't the case

Yeeeah. I'd tried to rationalize it and assume that there was some explosive in his crotch that went off, but... yeah, my brain went there, unfortunately.

Aaaand now I'm waiting someone to 'shop in "But you said you had no gag reflex!"

Oh good gods.

Who was the artist on this? I like the art. It's rare to see someone who can draw babies in comics. They always look like stubby midgets or goblins.

Pascual Ferry did the art. He (I assume he) and Joe Kelly (writer) had a pretty good run on "Superboy."

is superboy channelling Joe Swanson?

Modly Reminder

You need to embed at least one of these scans. Links to scans do not a legal post make. Like so:

[div class="ljcut"][img src="http://www.majhost.com/gallery/maslego/Stuff/sbgb.jpg"]

[url="http://www.majhost.com/gallery/maslego/Stuff/sbgb2.jpg"]

[url="http://www.majhost.com/gallery/maslego/Stuff/sbgb3.jpg"][/div]

(Replacing [] with <>).

Well, that's because your scans are giant sized. Does your host have a thumbnail code?

No, most image hosts have a 'share' feature, where they give you preformatted code to post thumbnails of your images.

Oh god...This is hilarious. Kon's summary is great, but I think my favorite bit is the bottom panel on the first page. "strange but otherwise harmless acts of Hoo-Ha."

I may have made strange and undignified noises in a public place.

It's a classic, all right -chuckling still, am I. I also liked the explanation of past events via popsicle-stick puppets, accompanied by Kon's nonsense noises.

This art kills, who's it by?

-makes note to get his issues of Superboy-

[identity profile] bariman1987.insanejournal.com 2009-06-19 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
81 or 83 through 94, I think. Joe Kelly was the writer. They're rather good, though I didn't like some of the angst and death, and a couple minor cast members were written strangely. But very good nonetheless.

This reminds me: I was at a bookstore and flipped through a recent issue of Action Comics (I think). One of the first pages is a spread of Guardian and the Metropolis Science Police fighting Shrapnel. I was deathly (pun intended) curious if Guardian's previous encounter with Shrapnel* was ever referenced.

*adding that to my list of things to post if I ever get around to learning the new code

[identity profile] bariman1987.insanejournal.com 2009-06-21 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
I think I was incorrect, and it was an issue of "Superman."
