It's weird to watch this very comic book-y reuniting of the couple while their early relationship is being given weight and humanity in the Netflix Daredevil series.
I literally just got done watching the series today and mother of mercy. The chemistry between Vanessa and Wilson had so much depth and emotion to it that I actually felt for the guy. I've never experienced that with a villain, at least not in a long time.
I just finished Episode 8 or 9 (the one with Stick?) and I'm still not sure how I feel about it - mostly just because Fisk just plain creeps me out in his "candlelit dinner" scenes. I mean maybe that's the intention? But I'm not exactly falling for the guy myself yet.
i find it hard to respect the Daredevil Wilson.... i don't like the way he cowers to the other bosses... to vanessa, sure, but not them... that doesn't seem like the Kingpin to me.
that said, he got better around episode 8 or 9 lol
Well the other bosses are connected to the Hand and K'un-Lun respectively, so politeness is required, otherwise he'd be up to his neck in ninjas and magical martial artists.
Why not? He's still being quite effective in the whole "take over Hell's Kitchen" thing, until DD gets involved. And they'd work with ANYONE if they believed that it'd help their cause. Basically, criminals on that "level" are not so shallow as to go "well he's not macho enough, so screw him." That's a distinction that a lot of people seem to not get, they're not cartoon clichés. It's about business. If working with someone helps in that regard, then they'll do it, regardless of if they're "manly" enough.
