An alternative line to "We give our lives to Rao" is, "Rao Rao, fight the power."

Is it me, or do these guys bear a resemblance to the Ori prophets from Stargate? Maybe it's just the staffs. Anyway, I'm not really impressed with the story. Hitch's work isn't even up to his earlier stuff, imo.

I'm just waiting for Lou Gosset Jr. to show up as one of Rao's staff-wielding priests.

Seems to me Rao would have bigger worries than the Olympian gods. They have what, a few thousand worshippers if you include the Amazons and Poseidon's worshipers in Atlantis? Even assuming that the Abrahamic deity and its servitors (like the Spectre) remain uninvolved, there are pantheons like Shinto and Hinduism that have millions or hundreds of millions of active believers empowering them.

Wars of the Pantheons are nice and all that but they do run into a hurdle when the universe also as the Abrahamic God as the Big G above all this petty bickering.

Which bugs me to no end.
