Poor Moon. She really should just get a restraining order on Superman and co. The times she's been pummelled, forced to move against her will and other such stuff is really too much.

Okay, I haven't been really on board with Hitch's JLA so far (not that it's bad, just not my taste), but that is really one of the best Superman moments in a while. Honestly, just great stuff.

I don't get one thing though—it's psychic and spiritual energy Rao is draining from his followers, not solar energy like what fuels Superman's powers. Given how many pantheons of gods humanity's collective unconscious has given birth to (compared to apparently zero for Kryptonians, if Rao himself is a fraud), I'd think that monkeying with their genetic makeup wouldn't gain him anything in terms of personal power and would risk losing access to Earth's uncharacteristically great metaphysical potential.

Mind you, Darkseid proved that having a few billion mind-controlled slaves with Kryptonian powers is a great tool for forceful universal conquest, but that doesn't seem to be Rao's goal.
