I kinda get it needed all those pieces happening at the same time for this to happen... but did they really need the cube for that? it seems like... walkie talkies could have worked? or was it that they initially failed and the cube enabled them to come back?
also, real questions, DOES Stephen get to keep his brownstone? DID sam think of the Stay Puft Marshmallow man?
I think it's an unanswered question. Did the cube fragment give them the nudge they needed to get over the hump? Was it the hope that Cap's message and plan inspired? Or was it just good timing?
I think the cube fragment definitely kept Sam going after he got shot, at least.
I think we're supposed to wonder whether the cube fragment did nothing and it was everyone's efforts lining up by happy coincidence, or whether the cube fragment retroactively altered reality to line those events up just right.
