This is probably the most blatant MCU alignment course correction since Nick Fury Jr.

Nothing outright objectionable here, but I don't feel like a biopic of the history of Carol's family is that gripping, you know? But maybe I'm jaded. If this helps solidify Carol as a thing post movie, I guess I've got no complaints.

It feels silly to hold on to Captain Mar-vell as this guy who should be central to her when he's been gone for so long.

Yeesh, tough room. I thought it was a lot better than most other MCU-type retcons and character fiddling (look what happened to poor Sharon in the movies).

So Carols powers are Kree battle-adaptions? So.. all Kree have powers like hers? Thats very different from the Kree I've been reading about.

Also, not going to invest in this. Its Carol. It'll be gone in another retcon soon.

You know honestly I'm more annoyed at the Kree retcons than I am Carol herself. I mean I find this whole Carr El stereotypical alien hybrid all along and that makes her more special retcon silly but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter. It most likely isn't going to improve Carol's sells or influence and is just the latest in a long line of stunts Marvel is using to push the character. Which probably won't be any more successful than the other ones. I mean the movie might make Carol an MCU success but I doubt it'll help the comic versions ever be anything but a middle of the road character.

However, the loss of the Kree as the petulant tantrum throwing jealous of every other races super beings so we'll try to breed them into ourselves while still being racest against these half breeds Empire is going to bug me. I mean we are losing a pretty unique for advanced alien civilization in comics for just another generic Super powered alien race.

So her Dad become a jerk and started drinking because he was paranoid of Kree threats???

Not only is it that incredibly weak, it just serves no purpose in the story. Why make her Dad turn into a character like that in the first place?

This retcon is awful on so many levels.....

So, in terms of Half-Kree heroes we now have, Hulkling AND Carol.

(I was about to mention Phylla and Genis, but I can't recall if they're half or full Kree)
