I thought that Blade was the person in this who remembered how things should be?

"just another old vet the world's forgotten" should be a clue, because whatever else Heroes Reborn is, it's definitely not subtle.

It's Captain America. He'd been kept on ice by Evil Coulson, and Blade busted him out at the end of issue 1.

Thought it was Thor...well, Don Blake looking like Thor anyway.

I’ve been reading this and I thought it was Thor until someone pointed it out on another message board

Really there aren't THAT many artists outside of George Pérez who allow me to tell all the muscular blond haired blue eyed Avengers apart outside of costume. These days I assume if I see one with a beard it's Thor, if one has shades it's Hawkeye, if one has a lab coat it's Pym, ect.

Blade is the only one who remembers AND is able to do something about it. As we've seen in the other issues, other characters have vague memories that this world is a lie -- like the Hulk here, who knows something is wrong, but can't articulate it because he's been transformed into a more Bizarro-esque version of himself.
