The Walking Dead's Clementine getting her own graphic novel series

Putting the rest under the cut as the full cover has spoilers for the final game.

It's a new beginning for Clementine, the star of the bestselling video game franchise TELLTALE'S THE WALKING DEAD, in Clementine Book One, as she's back on the road, looking to put her traumatic past behind her and forge new path all her own. But when she comes across an Amish teenager named Amos with his head in the clouds, the unlikely pair journeys North to an abandoned ski resort in Vermont, where they meet up with a small group of teenagers attempting to build a new, walker-free settlement. As friendship, rivalry, and romance begin to blossom amongst the group, the harsh winter soon reveals that the biggest threat to their survival…might be each other.

To put it mildly fans are pissed about this as this synopsis indicates she'll be either abandoning her new family and surrogate son or that they'll all be killed off at the beginning. But we'll see.

It's definitely disappointing that this sounds like it's abandoning the resolution of the games (Although really, what could be more fitting for TWD than to have stability and safe haven fall apart in some contrived way?) so hopefully it's not the case that they're just going to kill everyone else off.

That said, this is a fucking huge get for Image Comics and The Walking Dead, Tillie Walden is one of the most prestigious names in independent comics, a young cartoonist who has made her name with stories about young queer women, often in melancholia twilight worlds. I'm not a Kirkman fan, so you can take this with a grain of salt, but there's a pretty good chance that this will be the best TWD comic by a wide margin. It'll be a shame if fans don't give this a chance just based on it moving away from the resolution of the games, because this will probably be really good.

Hmm... I remain cautiously optimistic, but I was kind of hoping this would take place in the timeskip between A New Frontier and The Final Season. Unless this is, like, some alternate scenario where they never go to the school. The games ended the same way the comics did (with a sense of civilised society coming back and deal with the Walkers), so where will this go?

oh, well that sounds dull.

It might turn out, that she's only just leaving the school for a while, to go on a supply run or something. I hope it's that, because the other options seem worrying.

Isn't this what she just already DID? FFS.
Just let her be happy with AJ and whoever she might have hooked up with and the one leg she's got left.
