Unbeknownst to Eggman, Zavok is still alive (albeit barely) and makes his escape. Eggman is rather perturbed by this whole affair: he’s deduced this whole thing wasn’t just Zavok’s plan. He knows someone else is moving against him, but who they are and what exactly they’re planning he can’t say for certain.

Meanwhile, Starline is getting acclimated to his new facility...

Yeah given he keeps trying to conquer the planet and blew up the moon and started a zombie plague the list of people who Eggman can think of who would want to fuck with him like this is probably longer than the entirety of the Song of Fire and Ice book series

Yes, but the list of people who have the knowledge and skill to tamper with his equipment is much shorter. There's Tails or Starline and Eggman already decided it wasn't Tails.
