I am not sure if X-TREME is Nicieza taking the piss or if he is an earnest attempt at creating a character too radical for words.

I think Fabian had a good idea and characterization for Adam. He was a Summers brother (before it was cool) and didn't have the usual 90s warrior attitude.

Don't see why Shatterstar can be taken seriously, but Adam can't.

Poor Adam. Very, very clearly set up as the third Summers brother, but Fabian never got to make it explicit until fairly recently (and then everyone was mind wiped to forget it). And Vulcan stole his shtick on top of it.

Vulcan is the Summers brother that nobody likes. That used to be Havok's thing, so now what does he have?

Havok can at least be used an example of privilege within the X-Verse.

Vulcan is just the worst.

Ah, the 1993 annuals trying to introduce new characters with trading cards to boot.

And before they came out, editors going "we intend for these characters to be big deals not forgotten one-offs like Squirrel Girl."

So many classic new characters to stand the test of time like Hitman, Anima, Gunfire and—oops wrong company.

No, no, Marvel’s sole success from this run was Legacy, aka Genis-Vell. Followed by X-Cutioner and Adam-X but that’s not saying much. A few of the rest turn up from time to time for crowd scenes, some not even that.

A quick search only comes up with Fitzroy's sidekick, which tells you all you need.

... mainly because I got the Epic Collection with his debut in it.
And the Civil War tie-in where he got brought back to die.

The search jogged my memory of sone other new folks. Like the guy from the Iron Man Annual that stole faces, or the Devourer from the Daredevil Annual that didn't even warrant a spot on the cover. The cover featured Simon Garth, the Zombie, from one of the annual's back-up stories.

Also, a lot of people with powered armour.

" Needs to use weapons on people before he can use his superpowers on them " is mechanically fun, but healthy human blood sounds like it's already oxygen saturated. He could probably at least give people nasty buzzes without having to cut them.

blood is already oxygenated from breathing.
