Vampires and the French Revolution!


Our tale, as so many do, starts out with scans_daily. A poster left some scans and a link to Bite Me, a hilarious webcomic by Dylan Meconis. (Unfortunately, I was unable to find the post, so here we are again!)


As you can see, the setting is France, circa its headchopping days and centers around Claire, a rather quirky barmaid. A rather mysterious, dashing, and dark man (aren't they all?) named Lucien is staying at the inn Claire works at, but after a mistake while cutting potatoes, a fainting, and the weird appearance of 2 holes in her neck, Claire begins to suspect Lucien's not all he seems...


How does she taste? "Stringy," apparently.


Enter Ginevra, the girlfriend of Lucien's coven head, Audric. Ginevra accuses Lucien of betraying the whole coven to a power-mad revolutionist, but in the hustle and bustle, Claire gets drinks vampire blood and falls down a flight of stairs...


Lucien's already pointed out that as Audric sent him out on an errand, he's obviously not the traitor. With only Lucien and the newly-turned Claire, Ginevra doesn't have much of a choice but to lead a rescue party.


Of course, Claire has her priorities too.


While on their daring quest, we have hilarious turning stories, some riots, and funny alt text for most of the images. Interested and I'll post more. :)

And I just read through the whole archives, just like last time. I love deranged vampires set during the revolution. (I actually like the Revolution as a setting in general, because it's basically impossible to be more melodramatic than what actually happened, so you can have fun with it.)

The real French revolutionaries were scary-ass motha fuckas themselves. Vampire French Revolutionaries? I pity the foos that try to stop Liberty, Equality, and Brotherhood in *this* timeline. *g*
