I don`t know, this Flash series is just not doing it for me..It`s like they`re trying to make the Flash a 'serious' title and I`m pretty sure the Flash doesn`t work that way. (not saying he`s a joke, but I would expect a bit more light-hearted-ness)

I don't know about you but ever since Johns' Flash run there has been a LOT of dark stuff in the Flash books, mainly related to the Rogues.

There have been many cold-blooded murders, hot-blooded murders, Murmur as a character, Rogue Wars, re-animated corpses and paternity suits, and of course time-travel induced miscarriages.

This is actually pretty tame for Flash stuff post 2003.

Actually, I'd say there's been quite a bit of light-heartedness, it also just has it's serious moments when it fits--with Iris and Barry's co-workers, you can have light, when Flash is trying to absolve himself from murder, it's harder to do that.

I seriously do not like time travel shenanigans :\ I had to read the conversation between Top and Flash a few times before I understood it.

It helps later knowing that Top is just lying in the first place. So you don't really need to understand what he's saying since he's just pulling it out his butt.

P.S. Am I the only one LOVING this? Like it's a bit "mature" but it's not "90's DC" dark, nor is it especially Tiny Titans lighthearted...

Ah, I only ask because I've been reading a lot of grumblings here about Barry and this book. Hell, just go down this page and you'll see demands for Barry's death! Is the word I'm looking for "ironic" or "hypocritical"? Y'know, given the whole "one death and SD goes supernova" thing.

Totally--this is second only to BOP as my favorite monthly BD book, and definitely one of of my favorite superhero books going right now. :D

No, just hire Darwyn Cooke or Mark Waid teamed up with Brian Augustyn and/or Tom Peyer, all of whom have been the only guys to not just make Barry interesting, but even wonderful.

I just stick with my Barry should've stayed dead stance. I don't hate him. I rather like the character..minus how he acted in Fall of Green Arrow, but still, he should've stayed dead. And seriously, this writer's nostalgia thing...it's always a double edge sword... it helps or hurts things..

I don't hate Barry as a character but I hate what he represents. Nostalgia for the sake of nostalgia.

If the Nostalgia is used to make something worthwhile like say Kingdom Come then I am okay with it but everything I've seen of Barry has been really kind of meh.

I can see the evil (implied killing of teammate, framing Barry, threatening Iris to give him evidence that proves a kid innocent of a crime), but I don't see the crazy here.

The theory going around is that this is regular Top; he can "shift" his consciousness into another body under certain circumstances, and it would explain quite a bit.
