Yes, it was retconned. Equinox, PG's magic baby, was first supposed to be Hal's, then switched to....um...something magically Atlantean. Hal had amnesia at the time of their making out (that they made out ONLY is still in canon, I believe) so it became a Non-pairing. They both remember it happened later, but Hal chose to forget about it (he was desperately trying to get back together with Carol at the time) and PG was horribly embarrassed and desperately tried to forget it. Never mentioned again, and no romantic hints ever again either (except for Karen's Earth 1 counterpart Supergirl, who had the crush on Hal).
