I Am An Avenger #2

I was surprised nobody posted this a few months ago, but it may have been overshadowed by the pie-eating contest short story.






Come to think of it, we did see Logan hanging out with Jarvis a couple of times back during the original New Avengers era, mostly in Spidey's book.

I love Tigra sitting on the counter when she's eating. It's just such a cat thing to do. And man, Jarvis is like super chef to be able to basically make a different meal for every single Avenger at the mansion.

Two Things:

1. I wished the panel where Logan goes to Dr. Strange with a slice of Hawkeye's pizza in his hand included several arrows casually sticking out of Wolverine's torso.

2. I was expecting the last page to end with an "I'm the best at what I do" gag.

Always love seeing Wolverine being the extrovert/mr. gold ol' time towards other people.

Well, from the framing and posing in the next few panels, who's to say that it didn't happen that way!

Aww, Tigra on table eating = cute! She's also been pantsed err gotten pants put on her. I...don't mind.

This is awesome because Jarvis is awesome and Logan still has the power to be awesome in these little stories.

But I overshadowed it with the pie-eating page because Cage in a pimp-hat directing the eating of pie and Jarvis in a tuxedo-shirt and jean shorts is AWESOME.

I like Logan being the one that remembers that Jarvis is a guy. All the other Avengers may treat him with respect and show appreciation for what he does, but Logan seems like the right guy to feel uncomfortable with Jarvis being the butler and instead wanting him to be an equal.



Mild criticism, though - making that many different meals by one's self is pretty implausible.

Only if he made them all from scratch. Pizza and meatloaf in particular are pretty easy to make ahead of time, or at least to make most of the ingredients ahead of time, and keep them around for when somebody wants them.

Plus, he's Jarvis. One does not butler for the Avengers unless one has it as a superpower.

It actually makes sense for Logan to treat some of his seemingly older peers as equals and juniors. He is in his hundreds, after all.

Man a lot of people have done comics with spidey eating upside down, but not a lot of people have the brass to do a comic of spidey eating upside down out of a bowl.

It's lucky Spidey is so dextrous, because I've also been given pause by the intricate handwork needed to eat and drink upside down. Some of the things I think I could do, but other times, it really looks like you'd need superpowers to achieve what he's implied to be doing.

I love the giant....boar? in front of Thor. He's gonna eat ALL of that and you know it.
And that last panel has all my love.
I wish I knew more about jarvis :C
