Want to see a man disintegrating into tiny little cubes?

A fellow s_d member showed curiosity about a page I posted from François & Luc Schuiten's Carapaces, so I decided to post a few more pages from that album.

First of all, the cover:

(Hey, it's a French comic book, what did you expect? Capes?)

This is from the same short-story I posted before, and it has a really great sequence about a man literally falling apart:

And this is from another short-story:

This is set in a dystopian future and it's about a couple walking through a dead landscape, protected by those robot-looking armors. But one of them decides to take it off and that's a mistake, even if the sex is awesome:

(Ha ha, how ironic...)

Warning: contains some nudity and sex.

I forget which scifi/horror movie it was (Cube maybe?) that had a scene where escalating lasers flying by were trying to kill the group. Surprise first one chopped off a head, second one went low but adjusted when someone tried to jump... eventually all but one get out of the room when the lasers just form a grid and Julienne the unlucky fellow standing. Camera pans away just as he, well, starts looking like the above.

I am speechless before all these stories but I must agree that irony on the story of the armored couple was quite powerful.

The title made me think of the season finale episode of Farscape: http://youtu.be/AAZxGIkTkMY?t=4m35s

If you like this, you might be interested to know that Carapaces is available in English collected along with two other albums by Schuiten as The Hollow Grounds, from DC/Humanoids.
