Mighty Avengers #13

So Blade's been kidnapped by the Deathwalkers, who are just about to complete their plan to take over the Earth. Who can stop them!? I'm gonna say... Dr. Strange.

The old Mighty Avengers meet the current Mighty Avengers, and the former have informed the latter about the Deathwalkers. Only problem is, they have no idea where they are. They try to get Power Man to find Blade, like he found White Tiger in issue 3. But the signal is too weak.

They try fighting, but there are too many were-creatures around slowing them down, so the Deathwalkers manage to finish their spell.

This is solidly the best Avengers title right now, IMHO.

It's enough to make me wonder if there's some sort of hands off policy in effect on the character. Like maybe no one is supposed to mess with her because she's one of Bendis' babies or something.

With the Netflix series coming out though we could be poised to see more out of her in the comics as well, since Marvel's been good about cross media stuff the last couple years. I don't think I'd want Bendis writing her again, both because I personally don't care for his style, and because it seems likr he could have done stuff with the character but didn't. If she's going to get a fresh start a new writer would probably be best.

Still, I'd love for Ewing to do a story all about Jessica.

If Marvel wanted to give Jessica Jones a series again in light of the Netflix stuff, which they'd be crazy not to, Bendis wouldn't be the ideal writer, simply because it seems like he considers her story finished.
