"And that's when the Crime Boss realized, when you challenge a kung fu white boy who has literally Mortal Kombat'd his way to the top of his profession to a street fight... you are in for a HWOOPIN."
This is some good Bendis work. Great art, compelling and well-paced story, and not misleading in solicits. Also, I love how every issue introduces more street-based characters or has cameos. It makes everything feel so organic.
Amen. It feels weird to be looking forward to new issues of a Bendis series after rolling my eyes so much at his work in the past decade or so, but he does have a good touch with this sub-genre. Even the dialog sounds more natural and varied; it's as if he can only avoid defaulting to one stilted, expository mode of speech when he has street level characters to speak it.
