It's been too long since I did one of these, but this is an example that was too much fun not to share, as I had the pleasure of sort of starting something! :) (plus it makes a nice showcase of an artist I like)

Luciano Vecchio is a professional Argentinian artist whose work on Ironheart has been deeply appealling.

He has a somewhat cartoony style which isn't too common these days (shades of Alan Davis perhaps?), and with a complete lack of fear of actually making comics look brightly coloured.

So when he opened up single-figure commissions, you can imagine who I might have wanted him to have a go at! :) (Yeah, not Robin, though it was tempting... as was a Saint Seiya character (which is still big in Argentina) maybe another time!)

Instead I went for my favourite selfsoulfriends, and bot am I glad I did!

And then it sort of snowballed... or maybe Cannonballed would be a better term :)

I sometimes feel like I'm cheating when I commission Douglock,. as he's an automatic two-fer... I get a cute Doug Ramsey, AND the artist gets to have the fun of going as wild with Warlock as they want to... and as you can see, I was not disappointed.

But it got better, because after mine was finished and posted, it clearly sparked some interest from other people and, well this started to happen...

I LOVE the use of lighting and negative space to give a sense of Sam's blasting field! And that Sam is again a skinny kid with big ears.

Again, I love the subtle covering here, with his X-belt being almost visible through the Berto's shadow field as it spreads over him

Sadly, no one has requested Karma as yet, but if anyone were to do so, I should imagine it would be nice to have a complete set of classic New Mutants!

On the other hand, we do have a nice ancilliary member of the team, in the form of Rictor (though a later stage Rictor whan was on the team)
