Batman: Last Knight on Earth #2

"With this one in particular, I think it’s lived in my head for so long that I don’t feel as much pressure as I thought I would. I know it’s the right ending for our version of the character, and it’s so specific for our version. There are so many other things happening with Batman now in so many great ways at DC between what Tom is doing on the book and what Brian and Lee are doing with him at Black Label, and what Pete Tomasi is doing on Detective—all of it. I can kind of look at it and say that this is the ending of our Batman, which we began in 2011, as opposed to if we were doing this while we were still on Batman and it was more of the mainline version. This gives me some freedom to be able to sit back and say that there are no real restrictions on this one. There’s no pressure externally. It’s really just all the pressure that we put on ourselves to be able to say that this stands with our best stuff, and I really think it does." -- Scott Snyder

This comic is really weird even for comic book standards.

While I still have issues with the whole "world turned evil because of a Luthor speech" I admire the irony that the one time Lex was so sure he was going to lose and basically a massive suicide attempt is the one scheme that actually works and takes out Supes.
