I love how Mystique is reaching out for Nightcrawler in that Inferno cover. I guess she does care about him after all. Also, I thought Logan was calling himself Patch again, but that's probably Shaw.

Storm is the Queen of Mars! YES!

Glad to see Kamala is coming back in to comics, even if it is only for 5 issues. Just in time for her Disney+ show?

I love how Mystique is reaching out for Nightcrawler in that Inferno cover. I guess she does care about him after all.

Much more likely she was trying to steal his watch.

I've been feeling crazy since the Dark Ages announcement, but like, didn't this series already come out? Like, it was written by Tom Taylor, there was some kind of EMP plot device? Iron Man plowed through a building when his armor lost power? Like, I thought this already happened???

Still more than a little annoyed by the sense that Inferno is the first time Hickman's paying anything off after the entirety of his X-Men run was setup, but I'm still glad to see this stuff actually happening.

Another Demon Days book from Peach Momoko is cool.

Gillen recontextualizing Thanos in his new Eternals mythology sounds very exciting.

Still somewhat skeptical of John Ridley on Black Panther. It's great that Marvel is continuing to treat Black Panther as a seriously prestigious title, but Ridley's hit and miss.

The whole Black, White, and Blood imprint is really strange. Wolverine, then Carnage, now Deadpool. I don't hate it, but still, it would be nice if this could just be one anthology series instead of having to be always married to this marketable characters.

A Winter Guard book is kind of cool, but I'd kinda like to see a non-American creative team involved. There are tons of talented writers and artists coming out of Russian and Eastern Europe, and I'd much rather see them do something thoughtful than have an American writer default to a bunch of stereotypes.

That Steve McNiven Moon Knight cover is gorgeous, and a little outside of McNiven's usual style. There's a bit of a Paul Pope energy to it.

Marauders looks like Sebastien Shaw is back in fighting form, that's interesting.

I still don't love the Arakko/Mars stuff, nor the somewhat predictable choice of Storm for the role of Regent, but I hope from the solicitation text that Ewing is planning to push back against the frequent trend of enshrining Storm in these positions of "power" and "regality" while not letting her do stuff as a character.

Miles Morales 10th anniversary is a great time to look back and ask "How much of this is actually good, and how much is just a good idea?" It's not a good ratio. Also, that new costume is... something, considering his standard look is already a great spin on Peter Parker's costume and got some much appreciative tweaks in the movie which still haven't been reflected in the comics.

Excellent Silver Surfer cover to FF: Life Story.

It's quite amusing to see the TPB for Extreme Carnage being solicited before the event has even started. On the one hand, great that they're keeping things short, on the other: really putting the cart before the horse.

Definitely gonna snap up that DWJ Beta Ray Bill TPB.

Ah thanks, that explains that. Thinking that book had already come out, I was a confused why I hadn't seen more of it floating around, given that share-ability is one of Taylor's signatures as a writer. The delay is probably kind of a good thing, since it creates a little more space between this and DCeased, so it doesn't feel as much like Taylor is being pigeonholed with these high body count AU stories.

I don’t know, I’d say Miles Morales has had a fairly consistently decent enough stint in comics. The new costume just looks like a mix between Ben and Kaine’s Scarlet Spider suits.

I’d love to see more superheroes/villains that moreso happen to be of a specific nationality, religion, etc. instead of being Captain America-esque representatives of said nationality/religion/what have you. For every Ms. Marvel, there’s like two or three X-Men with ironic ties to their cultural background.

Gillen recontextualizing Thanos in his new Eternals mythology sounds very exciting.

For sure. His version of Eternals are interestingly alien. This has the potential to go a long way to explaining why Thanos became messed-up enough to fall for Death.

A Winter Guard book is kind of cool, but I'd kinda like to see a non-American creative team involved. There are tons of talented writers and artists coming out of Russian and Eastern Europe, and I'd much rather see them do something thoughtful than have an American writer default to a bunch of stereotypes.

Having just read Shadow and Bone, that's a valid concern. I'm hardly an expert on Russia, but you don't need to be to notice that Alina Starkov has a male last name, or to know the kvass everyone is getting drunk on has the alcoholic content of kombucha.

The costume might work better with art that doesn't make Miles's arms look broken and distended... but I doubt it. It's a sweatsuit with weird baggy sleeves and a mask over the mask. It looks goofy and yet also boring.

"Winter Hulk" is, uh, quite the design, but the superfluous thigh-mounted belt pouch really knocks it out of the park. (What would a hulk put in a pouch anyway?)

I mean some of the Hulks who had access to Bruce's intelligence put tech or other items they needed for the battle to use.

Pouches....the best item a Smart Hulk can use/

"TARN THE UNCARING wants his stuff back!"

Funny, I would expect him to be pretty chill about that sort of thing.

Love Miles' scarf on that Thor cover.

Sam's pose on that Champions cover is one of those rather uncomfortable looking poses, like MacFarlane's Spider-man or every female character in the 90s.

It's not in this solicits, but the prerelease information for this Miss Mrvel series heavily implied that they would be retconning the source of her powers

-retconning the source of her powers-
Not again...

"Kamala Khan, you thought the source of your powers was a peanut-butter death cloud, but it was actually me, an old white man, all along!"

Guess them Last Annihilation solicits don't feel the need to hold back about how the bad guy is anymore.
It's an unusual choice, but also one of those where you're wondering why someone didn't do it before.
Why wouldn't they operate on a much larger scale, rather than bothering with just Earth?

"An all-new saga of the Marvel Universe as you’ve never seen it before" feels like it's been the tag-line for literally everything that has happened in Marvel for the better part of the last 20 years. It's EXHAUSTING.
