Sonic the Hedgehog: Tangle & Whisper #2

Mimic makes his escape while Whisper rushes off to rescue Tangle, and after a bit of searching she finds the safe. cracks open the safe and gets her out. True to Mimic’s word, the bombs go off right at that moment, and with no other way out in time Tangle kicks Whisper into the safe with her to ride out the explosion.

EDIT: Here, I hope this clears things up.

where Sonic had a sister and a brother and they were in a band so they could go around to different resistance cells, and they each had a magic pendant that turned into a musical instrument that shot, I don't know, lasers or something.

I don't think it was that horrible.
It still developed from let's make a series about a cartoon character, but the creators of the cartoon have no interest in the universe of the characters.

Named Eddie
Eddie the Yeti
I think the wildest change to the games lore the Archie stuff did had to be everything to do with the Echidnas.
"Knuckles lost people are engaged in a bloody and vicious holy war between a theocratic authoritarian regime that thinks all technology is evil and a technocratic cult of cyborg quasi-fascists led by his batshit insane ancestor and also he's being spied on by his Racist Grandpas who all faked their suicides in front of their children to go live in a creepy survival bunker where they spy on everyone"
And yet Ken Penders couldn't understand why they wouldn't let him write for the games

Then they failed to bring back Jim Cummings. It's the SatAM design for Robotnik, but the voice is just...it's Garry Chalk. It's GROUNDER! Yes, it doesn't sound like Grounder, but it's still the same guy and NOT Jim Cummings. Jim Cummings made Robotnik terrifying in SatAM and I don't think anyone else could have pulled it off at the time. ...well, maybe Tony Jay.
But the biggest affront to me was the dreaded "power of music" thing they had going on. I always hated plots like that. That and sudden singing. It's why I can't stand musicals. You can't be doing something serious and then burst out into song. I'm reminded of a Saturday Night Live sketch where Norman McDonald played a guy stuck in a musical, trying to figure out why people around him are singing. I was willing to tolerate it though, because I THOUGHT it was the SatAM Robotnik since there's no talking in the intro.
