Beyond the Big Two - Big Bang Comics

A repost from s_d 1.0.

If you haven't met them before, meet Knight Watchman and Kid Galahad.

Back in the 90's when Batman was wallowing in his own angst, and the angst of anyone within 200 miles, and was, essentially, a self righteous aggravating pain the the Batcave, there were two places left to enjoy his adventures. The first, obviously, was Batman the Animated Series. The second was the Big Bang comics series of entirely blatant, but respectfully affectionate, homages to the glories of the Golden and Silver ages.

Pseudo Golden Age nuttiness under the cut! )

Mod post: Beyond beyond the big two

Excellent week, chaps.

Beyond the Big Two was a fantastic success in my opinion - how about yours? So MUCH good stuff to read, and most of it new to me. I didn't manage to post the pages from Slaine: The Horned God that I meant to - but I won't let the end of the theme week put me off, and I hope you don't either! Let's keep posting this variety, and work of such quality.

I'm gonna be linking some of the posts from the past week on @scans_daily, so if you missed a day or two just keep an eye on twitter.

But, next things next - are we ready for another theme week already, or do you want a rest?

Boy scouts gone monster hunting

Awhile ago, on the web comic series Penny Arcade, they did a short story called Lookouts. About a group of boys - in something almost like boy scouts - as they learn to hunt monsters. Now, it is a comic series published by Comixology. The first issue will be on sale in stores in August, and is already in digital format.

How Ratchet got his hands back

Here's some more TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE. Since issue 1 of the series, one of the subplots has been Ratchet's deteriorating hands. Here's the story of how he resolved that problem in an unconventional manner, from MTMTE #4-5.
