Pride Month: My Favorite Thing is Monsters

'My Favorite Thing is Monsters' (written and illustrated by Emil Ferris) is a coming of age story of a young girl named Karen trying to solve the murder of her neighbor. The graphic novel is presented as illustrations in her notebook where she envisions herself as a werewolf detective.

The section below is fairly self-contained and focuses on Karen's relationship with her friend Missy. If you're interested in the larger story there are longer selections (the full graphic novel being over 400 pages) under the Fantagraphics tag.
