The Joker realises that bigger is sometimes better

Back in "A Death in the Family", just after getting his jollies beating a kid near to death with a crowbar the Joker came to a realisation...

I imagine the crowbar already was by that point... ICK!

Now, there is no way that this next page makes sense for the Joker, a rampant egoist who would DELIGHT in spreading news of how he'd been the one to kill Robin. (In another, better story, the Joker is accused of killing the Penguin and denies it, pointing out that if he HAD killed him, he wouldn't be trying to deny it, he'd be giving INTERVIEWS about it), and in another story he muses that he should have had "his" Robin stuffed and mounted... it's an utterly sick and grotesque thought, and not one I'd remotely enjoy seeing, but WOULD be sort of Jokerish

Anyway, back to the moment...

I show these pages because, obviously having seen how well the dynamite did LAST time, this time he's not going to make the same mistake

"That wasn't an explosive device... THIS is an explosive device" </Crocodile dundee>

This is a limited edition lithograph than Ethan Van sciver did for the Cherry Capital Con..

And in close of for those who enjoy seeing a REALLY pissed off Tim.

Tim has his legs free. Joker is two seconds away from a chokehold and suffering.

Sounds more talkative than the classic "Hmph!" or "Mmbl"!

Tim clearly mastered the art of looking cute and pissed at the same time.

As for Dick, the sheer amount might have added to it; it was his every other day (and being with the Teen Titans didn't help either!)... maybe he figured that it just kinda comes with the job (see also the Hardy Boys). :)

I wonder if Dick would look surprised if he got knocked out by a villain, awakened and saw that the crook just ran away. "Wait, you forgot something! That's not the way we do things in Gotham! You know, 'When you're in Rome...' etc."
