This first came out in 2009 (Which boggles my mind) but it's an evergreen seasonal tale which I have no qualms about posting again (and again, and again... It's like my equivalent of "The Wizard of Oz" on TV, but with more tied up Robin's).

According to the man himself, THIS is the story that Paul Dini used to get the gig writing Detective Comics, which is pretty remarkable as Batman is in it for exactly four panels. The trimming has not been easy, but I think I have this down to about a third of the issue.

I wasn't sure what to post for the 4th of July, as a Brit it might seem slightly counterintuitive to promote our former colonies treasonous behaviour, but I suspect that ship has long since sailed... Well, okay, it sailed 244 years ago.

Luckily Marvel provided something via their youtube channel,

Captain America's Top Ten Costumes )

And because I'm me, it seemed to be a moment to celebrate a few classic Captain America covers, featuringthe second most imperilled sidekick in comics

It's been a long while since I posted any of my ever growing art collection, partly because I've been slowing it down a little, and partly because I've never made the time

So let's do something about that )

The BATMAN #38 post got me thinking about the "idiot billionaire" facade Bruce Wayne puts on and if it is that effective. So here are some pages from BATMAN FAMILY #1 that explores the idea a bit.

Let's be honest... 2017 has not exactly been fun and games, has it? In comics, or the real world. It could have been worse, but a lot of that is due to the old saw that evil has trouble getting shit done because none of those involved trust each other, which is not exactly an aspirational goal, but I'll take what I can get right now!

Let's hope that 2018 sees the start of some cooler head prevailing across the world, and let's start by coming together as a community and commit to post more comic scans! (Again, not much on the global scale, but you never know how something important might start). Let's celebrate our diversity, our weirdness and our commitment to each other.

And in another sort of annual tradition, let's post my New Years themed commission which seems entirely apt.

Mitch Ballard - Batman, Robin and The Clock - Unhappy New Year! (or "Why Robin HATES the holidays!")

I close off with a few of Peter Capaldis memorable final speech as the Doctor, a show which is paving the way to the future with a new, female Doctor coming in Autumn 2018. Let's try and take them to heart;

Never be cruel, never be cowardly.

Remember – hate is always foolish…and love is always wise.

Always try to be nice, and never fail to be kind.

Happy New Year All!

Well, I can console myself that it's after midnight in the UK, but not in the US, so I'm claiming dual-citizenship to justify this.

Not that it needs justifying!

Now, I think I've been rather well behaved of late... more or less., not forcing my particular... quirk on anyone...

So I'm rather pleased that X-Men Gold #18's cover saves me the bother! :D

Now, I think I've been very restrained for the most part of late, with a distinct lack of chronically imperilled acrobatic heroes, more or less.

Time to sort of remedy that with some scans from a book I found yesterday which was an impulse purchase and not a bad one at that, It's a hardback book called "The World According to the Joker" (There's also one called "The World According to Batman" which I didn't pick up)

It's a glimpse into the Jokers head-space as part of a series of psychological examinations by Dr Arkham

It goes as well as you might expect )

It's been a while since my Fanart posts included commissions of my own, and I got a couple in, which celebrate my particular favourites!

So most of you will have some idea what to expect going in...

Back in the day, I did a "Killer Moth day" for a friend of mine on tumblr. In the process, I stumbled across this panel:

Killer Moth gets creative

I have no idea if it was already posted, or if there's a specific date for posting these things. If so, I apologize, and promise that I'll provide some never-before-seen (on scans_daily) dudes in distress images later.

(Also, is there a specific tag I should use for this theme?)

(Sorry about that, I couldn't resist, I know it's unforgiveable, but could you make an eggsception just this once?)

I'll stop now, promise! )

To icon_uk, from his biggest fan...

Max Allan Collins' brief run on Batman from back in the day isn't really well-remembered. At most, a few Jason fans and writers draw from it as the primary source for Jason's post-Crisis origin, but that's about it.

And yet, said run contained some glorious, glorious scenes. Like this one.

Joker being tied up.

Just ignore the context, and pretend that one of the Robins (probably Dick) is paying the Joker back for all those years of being bound and gagged...
