Ah, Erik Larsen, whose art I can never quite bring myself to like as much as some of the stories it's been used in might want me to.

I've only seen this single page but I find myself liking the facial expressions and spider-butt

Spider-Butt, Spider-Butt, does whatever a Spider-Butt... does.

Spins a web, any size... Hey! That actually works.

I want to read the dialogue but my eyes keep veering toward Spidey's ass.

Neat, I'm actually interested to know what happened next in this issue.

Does Spider-Man call this guy's bluff? Does the thug really have a sick mom, or was he playing for sympathy? If Spidey tries flying off a roof with those underarm webbings, can he reach for the sky?

CAN HE REACH FOR THE SKY?

Ah, context is everything. Thanks!

I guess I can just imagine he followed up on that afterwards.

I realize the spider-butt is probably distracting for some, but the thing that I can't stop looking at is Spidey casually breaking a knife with a flick of his finger. How does that work? It's not that Spidey isn't strong enough, it's that to do that much damage and break it that way, it'd be more likely to knock it out of his hand than break it.

I dunno, it's just seems really odd to me.

Spidey is holding the hilt of the knife with his other hand. Plus, it's probably a thin, cheap blade. Nobody would use an expensive knife to mug someone.

Note that his other hand is holding on to the guy's knife hand, so presumably he's keeping a tight enough grip that the knife stays in place.
