Leaked footage of new Thundercats cartoon
After the disappointment of the new Voltron cartoon (Seriously... could they make it ANY more dull or clichéd, and the animation looks like it's escaped from 1993) this gives me a little hope for the new Thundercats.
And jump to 4:00 for the BEST "Context is for the weak" moment I've seen in a LONG time...
Looking at her eye design, Cheetara looks like she's escaped from an episode of Jem!
Wily-Kit and Wily-Kat are less annoying than I was expecting... so far. I'll be interested to see how they continue that arc.
In looking for legality scans to go with this, I found two of the most stylistically mismatched covers I think I've ever come across... The DC/Image crossover which I assume was in two parts
First up the collectors variant cover of Bop/Thundercats by Alex Ross, where Lion-O seems to be channelling his inner KISS fan more than usual

And this is the other half, which may include the sleaziest Lion-O I've ever seen (and that's not a word I'd ever have thought to use to describe him) by J Scott Campbell.

On the flip side, is anybody going to complain about changing Snarf from an 80's Western Animation mascot character to a modern amine-style mascot character? That seems like a brilliant move.

And I noticed Snarf in the CN trailers. The design is pretty cute... While he did annoy me before at times, I did like him. I like the new design, but I wonder what they're going to do with him.

That'd be Truly Outrageous!!! (Yeah, I used to watch Jem when I was a young lad) I Approve It!!!
In all seriousness, I like this new design for the Thundercats. They really look like a real Anime. Now, if only we could get a look at Mumm-Ra then I would be very happy.

You're hardly alone in that one darling, but The Misfits WERE better though...
We sort of see Mumm-Ra in that clip

I love it
Please tell me Snark doesn't talk in this series; that makes it especially enticing.
Wily-Kit and Wily-Kat are pretty adorable here, so I'm looking forward to seeing how their powers evolve. And Cheetara's new look really doesn't bother me.
But what stands out the most about this series is apparently the hatred for different races other than cats. This was always black and white in the old cartoon series, and it bugged me (i.e. mutants are evil, cats are good), so watching Lion-O stand up for the dogs and for the lizard prisoners really made me smile. I'm starting to think that it's going to be a major theme in this upcoming saga about the war, and how Lion-O's compassion might actually win him some non-cat allies that will certainly help later.
Quick question though: who voices Lion-O and Tygra? they really sound familiar, and I'd be willing to bet money that it's Will Friedle because he almost sounds like Terry McGinnis from Batman Beyond.
Re: I love it
Tygra is Matthew Mercer, who I've never heard of before.
Snark is merely a pet in this series, and cannot talk.

Yes, so sleazy. But wait! By peering harder at the face of the guy in the blue visor helmet thing (I honestly have no idea who he is, forgive me) I can see he ALSO has a really sleazy expression! Maybe they're trying to see who can make the creepiest face?

But Cartoon Network has to do a lot of good things before I forgive them for pulling the last few episodes of BATB from their lineup and other such transgressions.

Looks very cool and I have nothing to compare it to. I'm always falling for that type of story.

I eagerly await this.
This series has a definite Avatar: the Last Airbender vibe. Not a bad thing.
I like the brotherly vibe of Lion-O and Tigra. I also like making them not all spoiled palace-dwellers.
The twins seem less annoying and I'll wait and see on Snarf.
Can't wait to see Panthro. He needs to be a grizzled, "I'm too old for this shit" T-Cat. And an appearance from the Silverhawks? Icing on the cake, let's see a villainous team-up of Mumm-ra and Mon-Starr.
I hope they import the snarky Mumm-Ra from the comics!

I sort of actually like this new Thundercats cartoon! Despite not even liking the original. (yup)
Though I sort of miss Wily-Kit and Wily-Kat's old designs.
