Leaked footage of new Thundercats cartoon

After the disappointment of the new Voltron cartoon (Seriously... could they make it ANY more dull or clichéd, and the animation looks like it's escaped from 1993) this gives me a little hope for the new Thundercats.

And jump to 4:00 for the BEST "Context is for the weak" moment I've seen in a LONG time...

Looking at her eye design, Cheetara looks like she's escaped from an episode of Jem!

Wily-Kit and Wily-Kat are less annoying than I was expecting... so far. I'll be interested to see how they continue that arc.

In looking for legality scans to go with this, I found two of the most stylistically mismatched covers I think I've ever come across... The DC/Image crossover which I assume was in two parts

First up the collectors variant cover of Bop/Thundercats by Alex Ross, where Lion-O seems to be channelling his inner KISS fan more than usual

And this is the other half, which may include the sleaziest Lion-O I've ever seen (and that's not a word I'd ever have thought to use to describe him) by J Scott Campbell.

I have to say that when I saw the teaser for this last night while I was stomaching an episode of 'Hotwheels Battleforce 5' (I've got an 8-year-old boy), we agreed it looked pretty good. I was shocked, having come across the old series during the middle of the night a time or two.

But Cartoon Network has to do a lot of good things before I forgive them for pulling the last few episodes of BATB from their lineup and other such transgressions.

Or the infinite hiatus for Young Justice. I actually love that show enough to try and hunt down news on a very regular basis. There were supposed to be 26 episodes darn it!

Looks very cool and I have nothing to compare it to. I'm always falling for that type of story.

oh, you're so greedy - 9 episodes aren't enough for you, is it?

Isn't it enough that the episodes are sooooo much better than the pilot (That actually isn't sarcasm. To me they really are.)

Hey, but they have the Young Justice DVD coming out on 7/19 (preorders being taken now kids!) to maximize on the DVD sales!

I know, I know :D but I am a little offended by the broken promise and raising my hopes up!! Better to wait before announcing a date only to break it!

The Dick/Bruce scene in Downtime has to be my favourite bit of bonding in the whole show :) I think the pilot was great, but it's the actual character development in a cartoon we see which makes it more awesome as it goes on.

(btw the tenth is, bizarrely, available on itunes I think)

as are apparently BATB, except I can't seem to find all of the third season, especially the last ones...

Yup, on iTunes, so we can shell out $2.99 more

(My apologies to anyone I've ever growled at for showing what I thought was leaked or pirated items in their entirety not realizing what could be seen on iTunes - glimpses are okay. It's a sore spot around here when my husband has had copyrighted material used without compensation. Yes, we are talking to you, a certain reality show that rhymes with 'Mersey Whore')

I think they're still working on YJ episodes. Which is fine. But CN tends to do a lot of 'air US cartoons all over the world except the US' which is total bullcrap.

I love BF5. ;u;
(Maybe I just have bad taste in cartoons though? Lol)

But that's interesting. They play BF5 and the Thundercats trailer at night where you are? I only see the former in the morning and the latter in the afternoon, and maybe (kinda rarely) in the early evening.

And agreed. Actually, I think they've goofed a lot lately (so many live action shows lately, less cartoons, especially good ones).

We were watching on our DVR... it's on during camp. It's not too bad (or I'd put in earplugs) but I wouldn't watch it alone... on purpose

Ohhh~. Lol. I'm guilty as charged (for intentionally watching it on my own). I scowled at it before, but then I caught it on accident one time. And it ended up being Storm Hawks all over for me again (how I went from disdain to love). I guess it's because it's by the same folks... (They know how to sucker me into their stuff at least.)

well, as someone who - in spite of surrounding myself with people who were avid comic book fans and the like - basically didn't discover cartoons until recently and walked into a comic book store for the first time at age 47, I never say never as to what I'll like next.

(And no, I really didn't watch kid's TV in the 60's and 70's unless I was at a friend's... too busy being a barn rat)

Ahh. Wow. But it's better late than never~ (well, as long as you're enjoying everything! Haha).

I grew up with a family member who always had cartoons, anime and comics around, and even now, my grandma will watch cartoons and anime with me and will hang when I want to go to the comic store, and I have my cousins that are just a bit younger than I am who keep up with some cartoons.

I am used to knowing for sure when I won't like some stuff, but BF5 (and Storm Hawks) managed to impress me a lot (strong female characters, diverse cast in personality, appearance, racially and ethnically, getting creative with worlds and stuff).

it just makes me up how long it took (although we would watch Speed Racer on rainy days I was reminded) - I have tons of examples like I remember sitting in the car waiting for my BF to run into the LCS on Weds on the way home after our riding lessons growing up, I married a fanboy - but it took my son watching the Teen Titans reruns for me to finally discover a whole new world of things I was missing!
