Well look at it this way guys, at least you guys aren't as huge of jobbers as the actual Hulkbusters.

Seriously though this entire team has "Cannon fodder" written all over it.

Though if it had been the real Hulk, i'm not sure they would fare better than a Hulkbuster.

The idea of Sentinels as giant mechs with human pilots is not a bad one.
Nor is the idea of getting James Rhodes--who always seems to have this confusing relationship with the military where he's in and out more often than Tony Stark in rehab--to lead the team.

(Poor Rhodey... he really is one of those secondary heroes where Marvel never seems to really know what to do with them. See also USAgent... )

Naturally, things didn't go well nonetheless.

It's hard being the Iron Man who isn't Iron Man. He's a good character, but that's not an easy sell. I can kind of see why Azrael and Thunderstrike were killed off and never brought back.

Speaking of Rhodey, I have a better question: If they have giant mech suits to protocol the area... why don't they have smaller armor suits to engage enemies in more enclose areas? Would DEFINITELY be better than just a giant robot punching through the roof and SO many floors with innocent people inside... Hell, Power Rangers make more sense in this regard.

And no, I am not expecting Stark brand armor suits... but this is Marvel, there has to been another brand or 2 that specialize with super suits....

But still, this pretty much undermines the Sentinel Squad idea: Instead of giant AI robots smashing around... we have giant robot mechas smashing around... thats not much of difference...

Moses Malone used to develop that sort of stuff, but obviously he's always been a criminal. Most of the other companies that makes that sort of stuff tend to be Iron Man villians (sooner or later).

Mind you, we had suits at a smaller level. The Mandroids have been around for years...although usually they're just put there to get beat up by heroes or villains, rather than be effective. Honestly, there have been dozens of power suit developers...they just never stick. In part because they're often there just to serve as antagonists.

Do they ever make jokes about Power Rangers? Or Gundam? Or ANY giant mecha in this series, or were they trying to be a serious with this idea as possible?
