Also, Iris as the new Impulse is awesome! I'm glad Wally got the shiny golden costume treatment and Barry didn't. But WTF is up with Liberty Belle's costume?
Jai and Iris's powers were in flux because they were sharing a connection to the Speed Force and the feedback from Zoom messing around with it was killing them so Iris severed Jai's connection to save him. There's nothing to stop Jai regaining his powers in the future.
Close. Walter's cowl was an actual helmet (with chin guard too), and his lightning bolt was like Jay's, except went shoulder-down instead of waist-up. He also sported wrist guards/bracers.
Not digging Wally's new costume. It's just... it irks me for some reason which I cannot fully express at this time. There's something about that's just wrong. Maybe it's that squinty look he's sporting.
Iris as Impulse? Nothing in what the character's done (that I've seen) puts her as "impulsive." Seems like another case of shoehorning a character into an established name "just because." Wut? A speedster on the Teen Titans? MUST BE KID FLASH! >:(
"Iris as Impulse? Nothing in what the character's done (that I've seen) puts her as "impulsive.""
They're both, like, two years old with the bodies of twelve year-olds. It's their nature to be so, and I do remember them being Impulse-esque at the very least when they were first introduced as speedsters.
...That is a good point, besides the lighting bolts pointing towards his crotch, it does look a lot like Wally's DCAU costume--even down to having the superhero white-over eyes.
Wally making costumes out of the Speed Force would explain why Jesse is showing so much leg...and cleavage.
Yes, I know the new costume meant to be reminiscent of her days as a Speedster (plus being evocative of her former identity of Liberty Belle) but her costume then resembled more of Cartoon Raven's with her torso and her arms (half) covered but her legs being the most exposed.
Obviously its not possible here because of Zoom's power level, but just once I'd like to see 'when the villian tries to kill the heroes family, said family member WINS. It'd make my year if a hero's mom pulled a nail bat from behind the fridge and started to beat the shit out ouf Doctor Mcbadman, or whatever.
So, I came here all excited to discuss this. Because, this is kinda cool. All the stuff that happened before we were complaining about being retconned happened, but now it's been changed by an outside force seeking to wreak havoc in Barry's life.
That's when it hit me. Did Geoff Johns just rip off the new Star Trek?
I made a special trip to pick this up yesterday and really wasn't as impressed as I expected to be. I grew up with WW as Flash, so I don't know BA's extensive background, but saying that it could all be undone so easy seems...kinda lame.

It's a costume patterned after her father, deceased speedster Johnny Quick.

But messing up timelines, especially ones so convoluted as Barry's, can't be good thing. If Iris dies, then Bart is an anomaly

I think part of it is the way he's drawn here. His muscles have such deep shadows they look like candy or jelly beans or something.
