Mod Announcement: we bring you new overlords!

Greetings to the good people of Scans Daily!

We have a few announcements to make. Our first big announcement is regarding longtime moderator [personal profile] angelophile’s retirement from active modding. [personal profile] angelophile has been a fantastic mod of this community, having been part of the mod team since April 2009, working tirelessly and without any pay to keep this comics community flowing smoothly, organized and a place where all our members can call their own.

So, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank [personal profile] angelophile for all the hard work he’s done, the time he’s put into helping make this community the amazing place it is, and wish him the best. But it’s not goodbye. You will no doubt still see him around the community as he will be staying on as an advisory member of the moderating team and helping out during special events, mod vacations etc.

Our second big announcement is that we are welcoming two new moderators to the Scans Daily mod team. We were sad to see [personal profile] schmevil and now [personal profile] angelophile leave us, but are excited to announce our new moderators, [personal profile] salinea and [personal profile] shobogan. I have no doubt you have seen them around. They are excellent additions to the Scans Daily mod team and we are happy to have them on board. These new overlords moderators will be available for all your questions, and to help make sure both this community, and our sister community, NoScans_Daily, on Livejournal, run smoothly.

Thor, Scientist of Thunder

Years ago, Marvel published a series of one-shots with a quirky premise: These were comics purportedly published within the Marvel Universe, the comics that the people living in the Marvel Universe read. I hadn't thought about them for a long time, but [personal profile] wizardru's recent entry on the line's X-Men one-shot reminded me.

Each of the one-shots took the concept in a somewhat different direction. The Thor one-shot is premised on the idea that most people in the Marvel Universe don't believe he's really a god. So, naturally, Thor comic books in the Marvel Universe are about a hero who uses technology to pretend to be a magic deity.
