A dog and his boy

The latest issue of SUPERMAN is set during the post-Infinite Crisis period when Superboy (Conner Kent) was dead. (In fact, that's when it was originally written, five years ago, but for reasons they never revealed, DC canned the issue despite it being fully scripted and penciled already.)

Two cultures with two very different popular definitions of a hammerblow.

So of all people, Sun Wukong the Monkey King is Marvel's newest hero.

He's got a one-shot slated for the tail end of Fear Itself, at least, with a mixed reaction.

His initial appearance in Iron Man 2.0's Fear Itself tie-in's just as initially odd, yet he and the other guests've somehow managed to make a fun story of city defense and would be Worthies while stealing most of Rhodey's pagetime.

Heck, this week's #6 gets a third through before everyone's favorite War Machine says a word, and it doesn't feel like anything's lost. )

FF #5 preview, now with words.

Yes, it's a little redundant to post the same preview and the same page, but this time it's got WORDS and they do not fail. ComicBookResources has the preview.

This is how you do comics right.

Hold the Line. )

A Trinity of Justice

I was watching the newest episode of "Batman : The Brave and the Bold" when a miracle happened, mine comrades. We had an episode devoted to the Trinity of Justice that is Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman (I think I had a mild orgasm after watching that episode). Here are some of the best moments from that episode. Enjoy.

Avengers: Children's Crusade #6 preview

Anyone still remember this?
Newsarama has the preview of Children's Crusage #6, as another group of superpowered youth muck around trying to rescue the Scarlet Witch.

It does lead to interesting reunions.

A little something in your eye...

I saw this over on Comics Alliance this morning and thought the perfect thing if you cats and kittens wanted a nice little cry at your computers today. The news that Bruce would be resuming the mantle of the Bat with Damian as Robin hit me a little hard. The work done to make the Dick and Damian dynamic duo work is impressive but Bruce, despite having raised three boys now, didn't seem to know how to handle his own son who wanted to be Robin.

Fear Itself #4 preview

And following with the theme of the cover the of year nomination, another wordless reason why a certain Sentinel of Liberty has such a commanding presence in the Marvel 616.
ComicBookResources has the worldess preview of Fear Itself #4.

(and I hope no one else posted it yet).

Fan Art for Marvel covers

More love from ComicBookResources. They have a submission page for tweaks on Marvel titles, and winning entries get a #1 display on the sight. Here are a few entries, and hope that as things fall apart the true order will reassert itself.

At least get some chuckles out of it.

So cool so cool so cool

One of them comic things in my childhood.  )

When I saw this, I felt.... unsure:

But I waited it out. Then I got a set, because I honestly couldn't wait any longer for the TPB. And.... well, it's been pretty awesome.

I honestly had no idea he was the first tight-suited, domino-masked hero to exist in comics.  )
