I feel like all our fantasies are being crushed constantly. What we thought our country was, what we thought our safety was. All these myths I had growing up as a kid, I'm just throwing out the window each day. I want to write a book about the myths of them and what it's like to lose them. -- Tom King

Mod Post: Off-Topic Tuesday

The intent of these posts is to chat and have some fun and, sure, vent a little as required. Reasoned debate is fine, as always, but if you have to ask if something is going over the line, think carefully before posting please.
Normal board rules about conduct and behaviour still apply, of course.
I haven't had much of a chance to pay attention to the news this week, what with one thing and another, and what i did see didn't really leap out at me much, so you'll need to add such focus and attention for yourself. Have fun.
I do kow E3 has happened, so I'm sure there was more video game news revealed than most weeks.
Probably more ON topic than not, but Sasha Colle's Supergirl costume from the upcoming The Flash movie has been revealed.
A trailer for the upcoming "Masters of the Universe: Revelations" dropped.
And for those of us in European lands (and possibly beyond) a new Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds movie is coming to cinema's soon! (And sorry/not sorry to anyone who now has the theme stuck in their heads for the rest of the day! :) )
Now we just need a proper Ulysses 31 revamp! (Cartoon or live action, either might work)

We had ordinary people looking to each other for heroism and we really raised the bar in that sense. There were a lot of stories of heroism that arose from 9/11 and other acts of domestic terrorism. But sadly as pendulums do, it swung back in the last few years because of fifteen years of fear and living under a cloud of domestic and international terrorism, fear has become the norm for us. I think that’s why we’ve become more attracted to a slightly more cynical point of view of the world.

This story to me is about my own frustrations with fear and my own frustrations with how we as a society have accepted fear as part of our daily lives.
